COVID-19 Closures and Tryout Update

Because of the recent COVID-19 outbreak, we have made the difficult decision to postpone tryouts. Safety is our first priority, and we do not want to jeopardize anyone's health during this time. We will hold tryouts either when it is safe to do so, or look into different options. At this point we do not know when tryouts will be taking place or exactly how they will look this year. But we are working with the administration on how to move forward. Please join our tryout Band for updates as we move forward! Use the QR code below to join, or email zoeh@provo.edu. The band is open to all prospective cheerleaders and parents. This is a great app that allows not only updates, but also back and forth communication between coaches and athletes. If you are wondering what you can do in the meantime, here is what we suggest: Fill out all the parts of the checklist you can! You should still be able to fill out the application, get letters of recommendation, register on Register

2020 Tryout Material and Update

Below is the links for the tryout material. It is expected that athletes will learn the material on their own! We plan on learning all choreography this way next year, so we want to see how potential cheerleaders are able to pick up choreography from video. Dance with Counts (Front) Dance with Counts (Back) Dance with Music (Front) Dance with Music (Back) You may notice that the dance has a roll-off and a standing tumbling section. Please make sure you are able to do any roll-off counts because you will not know what roll off you will be required to do at tryouts. For the standing tumbling you will be required to do what ever standing tumbling you are most comfortable doing. Doing some type of tumbling is highly encouraged as it will be a part of all our routines this year. It is possible to make the team with no tumbling. Cheer (Front) Cheer (Back) Make sure you know both front row and back row roll off because you will not know which one you will need to do in tryouts.
